Fear can do a lot of things. It can cause us to make rash decisions. It can lead to closing doors of opportunity. It can make us run away from love, but most and worst of all... it makes us doubt God. Whenever and wherever there is fear of things unknown, our instinct since the creation of Adam and Eve says to turn away from faith and take things into our own hands. We forget that the God who created us promised to never leave or forsake, to protect and not to harm, and to love without condition. It's okay to be afraid for there is evil in this world, but when we put our trust in the things of this world over God, we let that fear be all-consuming instead of finding rest and peace in the security, power, and comfort of the Lord above. Seek God above all else when you are afraid. Pray for wisdom and discernment when the future seems uncertain. Rest in knowing that God is with you always, through the darkest of times and the best of them. You are not called to live this life alone, but with the One who saved us from sin and death.
If God is for you, who can stand against? When we are weak He is strong. There is no mountain he cannot move or overcome. It is written; God has already prevailed over evil. His light has overcome all darkness. Place your trust in the one who created you, not in the one who wants to destroy you.
