MERRITT REECE

President

IMG_4239 (1).jpeg

Hey there! My name is Merritt Reece and I am the President of Theta Alpha’s Beta chapter at UF! I’m a senior, Nutritional Sciences major, and Health Disparities in Society minor. Additionally, I’m involved in neuroscience research at McKnight Brain Institute. As President, I am the spokesperson and facilitator of the chapter. I do a lot of administrative tasks, but my most important role is to support the other officers in their endeavors. Becoming a part of this sisterhood is the greatest decision I’ve made throughout my time at UF. Theta Alpha has brought me closer to God and close to an incredible group of Christ-like women. I truly feel loved and cared for by these girls and I am so thankful God brought me here. I have seen the way God has worked through Theta Alpha and its members, and I am excited for what His plan has in store for us!

Chaplain

AMANDA BRADLEY

Hey besties! I’m Amanda, the Theta Alpha Chaplain. I’m in my second year at UF majoring in biology on the Pre-Pharmacy track with a minor in molecular and cellular plant science and a certificate in Artificial Intelligence. Outside of Theta Alpha, I play clarinet with the Gator Marching Band, conduct research in the Diabetes Institute through the Stabler lab, and am a part of the Pharmacy Early Assurance Program and Pre-Pharmacy Honors Society. I also do some volunteering at the humane society and LOVE cats! I joined Theta Alpha at a tough time in my life and was immediately welcomed into the family. I’m so grateful for the wonderful mentors I’ve had over the past year and for the joy these girls bring to my life. I was timid to rush because joining a sorority was the last thing in my life plan, but I was encouraged by my mom, a Kappa Phi I am friends with, and two girls I met tabling who ended up being my ruby moms! Every moment has been a blessing!

CAROLINE GREENGRASS

Internal VP

My name is Caroline Greengrass and I am Theta Alpha’s IVP (Internal Vice President)! I am a Junior and my major is Zoology. I am currently involved in UF pre-vet club and love animals! The role of the Internal Vice President includes helping organize rush, planning sisterhood and service events, and helping with family weekend. I joined Theta Alpha because I was looking for a community during my first year at UF and when I went to my first rush event, there was so much kindness and I was welcomed with open arms. It has been so good to grow closer to Christ alongside wonderful people. Also, semi-formal was amazing and formal is coming up this semester! If you are looking for a community of people who encourage each other in school, faith, and more, get in touch with one of the officers or through our Instagram! We would love to hear from you!

External VP

STACIE HERNANDEZ

Hi! My name is Stacie Hernandez and I am serving as the External Vice President of Theta Alpha this year. I am a first year student at the University of Florida studying Nursing! When I am not hanging out with Theta Alpha, I spend my time playing clarinet in the marching band here at UF! I love coffee dates, being outside, and spending time with my friends and family. Theta Alpha has been such a blessing in my life and I hope to pass that blessing forward as EVP through overseeing our external events like socials, philanthropy, and date functions! This community has made such an impact in my life by providing a community of fellow sisters in Christ that uplift and encourage each other through life. I can't wait to see where God takes Theta Alpha this year and beyond!

My other involvements include volunteering at Streetlight at UF Health, Aces in Motion, Fun & Fit Wellness Center, and Community Hospice. I am involved in research within the Food Science and Human Nutrition Department and am participating in the University Scholars Program.  I also serve as Alumni Relations Director for Gator Scuba Club. In my free time, I love to do anything that involves nature!  As part of my treasurer role, I oversee the budget, tithing, and member dues. Theta Alpha has been a loving and supportive community throughout my time around UF that has opened the door to genuine friendships and cherished memories centered on glorifying God. It has been a gift of encouragement to spend so much time with girls pursuing Jesus whether we are studying the Bible, studying in the library, having a vulnerable conversation or are at a fun event together!

Secretary

RACHEL FARMER

Hello y’all! My name is Rachel Farmer, and I am the Secretary of Theta Alpha! I’m a senior, Dance BFA major double minoring in Business Administration and Economics. I’m originally from Katy, TX which is right near Houston. I’m involved in Stomp the Swamp, Dance in a Suitcase, and Assemble Ballet Company, which are a couple of the student dance organizations on UF campus. As Secretary, I help sisters maintain their active status among their busy schedules. Specifically, I keep track of attendance, record the minutes for meetings, and work closely with my chairs who maintain the social media pages, interact with alumnae, and create a scrapbook of memories for each semester. I am so grateful to be a part of this incredible sisterhood. As an out of state student, I came to UF not knowing anyone. I knew I wanted to find a community of friends who would encourage me and help me grow in my faith and relationship with Christ. I instantly felt welcomed, loved, and valued the moment I joined. Through Theta Alpha, I have grown so much in my relationship with God alongside such inspiring friends that I am so happy to call my sisters. I am so excited to see everything God has in store for the years to come!
