MIA MINKIN

President

Hi y'all! My name is Mia Minkin and I am the President of Theta Alpha. I'm a senior from Orlando, FL, and am double majoring in Political Science & Family, Youth, and Community Sciences with plans to become a policy analyst in the near future. As President of Theta Alpha, I oversee the ins and outs of running the chapter and support the officers, chairs, and all sisters however I can. Outside of my role in Theta Alpha, I teach First-Year Florida, serve as a Florida Cicerone, am a director for Engage Florida, and conduct research in Political Science. I love coffee shops, road trips, bookstores, concerts, and spending time with friends! Going into my freshman year, I was worried I wouldn't find my place at UF. But from the first night of rush, I felt so poured into by people who I had just met, and the Lord showed me that this sisterhood was my place. I cannot express how thankful I am that He brought me to Theta Alpha. This sisterhood has provided me with lifelong friends who have supported me, grown alongside me, made every single day brighter, and encouraged me to deepen my faith. I am so grateful to have the opportunity to serve you all this year, and I can't wait to see how we will grow!

Chaplain

MICHAELA KOVAR

Hey everyone!! I am Michaela Kovar and I’m a senior, Health Education major on the pre-nursing track from Clermont, Florida. My goal after graduating is to become a Nurse Practitioner! In addition to Theta Alpha, I am the group leader of our local Delight chapter, a member of Doctors Without Borders, and a member of ETA Sigma Gamma! Some of my favorite things to do are working out, enjoying some boba, and of course diving into God’s word! I am so blessed to serve as Theta Alpha’s Chaplain this year, as this ministry has deepened my connection with the Lord since joining! This ministry has allowed me to stay focused on God’s truth while being in college. If at any time I need encouragement and love, my sisters are always there for me! As Chaplain, my focus is to help our sisterhood grow spiritually by giving weekly messages at chapter, as well as overseeing prayer events, worship, outreach, retreat, devotionals, accountability groups, and missions. Theta Alpha continues to make an impact on how I not only serve the community, but focus on serving the Lord every minute of the day! I can’t wait to see how the Lord will truly move this year and am looking forward to seeing the Lord’s plan unfold for us!

Secretary

ABIGAIL HUNTER

Hello! I am Abigail Hunter and I will be serving as Secretary of Theta Alpha for the 2021-2022 school year! I am a senior in UF’s College of Public Health and Health Professionals. After graduation I have dreams of attending nursing school and shortly following going into Health Administration. During my time at UF I have been involved in Gator Pals, LEAP, volunteering at Shands, and Baby Gator. In my free time I enjoy staying active, hanging out with family and friends, and watching sports. I am from Tampa, Florida. A fun fact about me is that I am a triplet! As secretary, I work with sisters to help them maintain their active status among their busy schedules. This includes taking attendance and recording minutes for all of the meetings. I also work closely with my chairs to maintain our social media pages and website, create a monthly newsletter to send out to our alumnae, and design a scrapbook each semester to capture all the memories made within the sisterhood throughout the years. I am looking forward to serving the members of Theta Alpha. Theta Alpha has given me sisters that share a bond of Christianity that is unbreakable. I am thankful for the opportunities the sisterhood has provided me to strengthen my relationship with the Lord throughout my college years. I cannot wait to see what God has planned for the ministry throughout the year!
